Lots of houses have attached garages. Some houses have detached garages. Not many have both… especially when both are generously sized.
The attached garage features two single doors. It opens into the laundry room/mud room. That is a great plan. If you get a little dirty in the garage, the laundry room is right there. And the stairs to the basement are right there, too.
There is also a door at the back of the garage straight out to the deck. That makes it pretty easy to toss some goodies onto the grill while taking care of a little business in the garage.
The detached garage has a double-wide door. It would make an excellent project space. It is conveniently located diagonally from the attached garage. This leaves a nice motor court area at the end of the driveway next to both garages. There is also a nice spot to tuck a car trailer off to the side.
