This home is in Lilburn, GA and within the Parkview High School cluster. Parkview High School is a very highly regarded school in the Gwinnett County School system. In addition, it is served by Trickum Middle School and Camp Creek Elementary. Both of these schools are also prized by parents for their performance.
For those that might be hobbyists, the home has both attached and detached 2 car garages. There is also a generous motorcourt between the garages with available room to park a car trailer. Whether it is automotive hobbies or woodworking, the room is generous.
The full basement also has a 60″ door and leads back to a work/storage area, as well as an office, bedroom, rec room and flex area.
On the main floor, there is a vaulted great room with a connected sun room. The dining room is seperate and there is a generous eat-in kitchen.

This is our first year at Parkview and we couldn’t be more impressed! This school is first class from the top down. I agree with Dr. Buck, ‘It’s the best school in the nation!’

This school is excellent. It is known for it’s 3 time state championship football team but also has a 4 time state championship science bowl team. This school excels above all others in academics and athletics. It you’re not an athlete, there are many other activities. There truly is something for everyone. The community surrounding the school is great and very supportive. You will not find a better all-around school out there.
Finally…
I have been exposed to many schools in the Atlanta area and without a doubt Parkview is one of the top schools. The administration (now that Dr. Buck is here), the teachers, parents, and the community businesses all contribute to help the kids excell in any activity they are invovled with, be it athletic or academic. The kids have bought into the idea of success breeds success. They have year after year challenged each other to perform at a higher standard. That expectation level starts at the top and has filtered down to the kids. They expect to be the best and they are. I am very pleased with the education and extra curricular activities my child has the opportunity to be a part of at Parkview. Great Teachers, Great Parents, Great Kids = Great School !
Of note here is that the reviews are consistent over the last six years. In fact, Parkview has ranked as one of the top schools in Gwinnett County for the 20 years that I have lived in the area.
ACT scores rank above the state and national averages across the board in the graduating classes of 2005-2007 (all that were shown on Great Schools). In the ECOT tests, Parkview students again scored above state averages across the board, beating the state averages by as much as 33 points.

]]>CRCT scores stack up pretty well against state averages. Reading (scores in the mid 90s v. high 80s to low 90s for the state) and Language Arts (mid to high 90s v. high 80s to low 90s for the state) are the strong areas, while Social Studies (82% v. 59% for the state… only test in 8th grade) and Science (81s and a 92% v. 60% to 75% for the state) seem to be the weakest… but still well above average. Math was generally in the middle, but again there was a substantial spread between Trickum’s scores and the state averages.

]]>In April of 2004, Lane had a life changing experience. It was a boy. Prior to that, Lane had begun to prepare. Part of that preparation involved getting a real estate license. “I wanted to have more control over my schedule than my previous career allowed, ” said Lane. “Photography and the photography business had been very good to me. I was able to make a living doing something I really enjoyed. First, in retail photofinishing, then as an Assistant Photographer, and later as a Commercial Photographer, and finally in management, I was able to work in a career path that I really loved. But, it was a lot of hard work. Vacations were tough to schedule, days could be very long, and the schedule was more in control of me than I was of it.” While he sees the work of being a REALTOR® and real estate agent as challenging, and it isn’t quick or easy, it does allow a bit more flexibility in scheduling. Lane wanted to be able to go to the park on a Tuesday afternoon with his son, or visit the Georgia Aquarium with his family when it was easy for them to go. He knew that was a change he wanted to make. “Having lunch with my son is a joy (ok, it can be a challenge, too… he’s still only three), and I am glad to have the opportunity to enjoy those special times. Luckily, they aren’t a rare treat. Of course, there is a trade off. You might get an email from me at 1:00am, or catch me on Yahoo IM at odd hours, but it is worth it.”
Being one that has been able to enjoy his work for most of his life, Lane wasn’t ready to let go of the things he enjoyed. “I knew that there were people like me, Car People, that didn’t have someone that understood their needs when it was time to buy a home. There are Golf Specialists, Horse Specialists, and Garden Specialists, why not a Garage Specialist? Have you ever asked the average real estate agent if there were 220V outlets in the garage? Did they even know what you were talking about, much less why you might want a couple of them?” Lane once tried to explain to a real estate agent (before he was in the business) that the garage was more than just a place to park a car… without much success. As an enthusiast, he doesn’t have trouble understanding how people use their garages, whether for building or restoring vehicles, maintenance, or display. “I know how other enthusiasts will see a garage, as well as what we want to find when looking at a new garage (with a house attached),” says Lane. “I also understand why a 3-car, 4-car, 5-car or 6-car garage might not be enough. And why you still might want some place else to park the lawnmower!” If you have been bitten by the same type of bug that Lane has, he may be the best person to call to help you find a home for the family AND the toys.
